A few months passed by as PG Forum receives more attention from the students. However, we tried to get teachers involved in the forum, but we failed. Teacher turned it down because the layout of the website, which was black at the time. Instead of giving up, we kept on going, releasing PG Forum the whole school instead of just our class. It became a place for notes exchanging, chatting, and downloading of school media.

After the initial release and PG Forum turned into version two with a simple and fresh layout. More and more people registered on the forum, and we had evolved from a two person team to a group management. People gave us suggestions to advertise more and we started putting up posters in the school. The community received much more attention from students and has become more organized throughout next the two years.

The ideas of this forum came to us during a science class just after the winter break. My science teacher quit teaching probably because he had found a better job at another school. It was a new year, and we wanted to contribute something to the school.

I thought of the idea of making a website for our science class. I shared this idea with Gibson, who was sitting right beside me. He suggested a web forum which allows students to submit questions and for our teachers to respond them. Then together we offered the idea to Mr. Chan.

On the next day I was at home working on the form when Gibson came along.

“What are you doing?”

“I am making the web form.”

“What form?”

“The thing we discussed during science class, remember?”

“Oh,” then he went into silence. After a while, he said “I meant a forum, I already told Mr. Chan about my wording mistake and explained everything to him.”

Of course, we could not take back or change our idea from Mr. Chan, because we had “thoroughly” explained the idea to him, so we set on the course of making a forum.

January 6th 2006, a day which I shall remember as the day when our school’s Student Forum was created. Although it is born mistakenly by a pronunciation of a word and between two grade eight students, PG Forum is now running perfectly and still getting new members everyday.
